THE BRICK AND GARDEN DIFFERENCE
Who works for Whom?
Does the broker work for the firm, or does the firm work for the broker? We founded our firm on the belief that the firm and the agent are partners. And, as with any good partnership, both parties must bring something to the table. Ask yourself, what does your current firm offer you and how much do they charge you for it?
Independent Contractor? Who's kidding Whom?
Does your firm treat brokers like employees when it suits the firm and Independent Contractors only when it is to their advantage to do so? Are you treated like the independent business partner that your firm proclaims you to be?
Does your firm value your time?
Are you subject to arbitrary rules that only benefit the firm?
Do you work with professionals? Is your firm professionally managed?
Does your firm mandate commission rates?
Does your firm charge you extra for everything.... copies, phone calls, voice mail, email and website, as well as for leads and referrals?
What is the technology level of your firm anyway?
Is your firm constantly selling you additional products and materials?
Does your firm encourage you to purchase expensive "selling tools," classes, and the latest gimmicks?
Do you think maybe your firm encourages you to "invest" so much in proprietary marketing materials and classes so that you will not or cannot afford to leave?
How much has all of this helped your business?
In short, have YOU, the Agent, become your firm's best Client? How's that again?
And the most important question: Does your firm profit, only if you profit?
Our simple, straightforward plan includes:
Immediate Ninety Percent Split to the Broker.
Broker-driven commission rates.
No transaction fees.
No franchise or royalty fees.
No "client" documentation fees.
Professional, collegial, supportive environment.

Brick and Garden Real Estate is selective.
We are an All-Broker Firm, therefore an active North Carolina (non-provisional) Brokers License is required. We require a four-year college degree or comparable business or professional experience.
Contract negotiation experience and foreign language skills are particularly valued, but not required. Sales & marketing, banking, finance & accounting, construction & development, and/or project management experience helpful.
We expect our brokers to be technologically proficient. While this may seem obvious, the fact is many real estate agents do not meet this requirement. Yes, we understand that brokers are not technologists. However, we expect our brokers to be at least as proficient as the average client, preferably more so.
Our firm emphasizes complete client representation throughout the transaction process. Therefore, we also require unimpeachable integrity, first-rate client service skills, diligence and the ability to follow-up, and the ability to multi-task in a complex, professional environment. We expect Brick and Garden brokers to have a complete grasp of agency and fiduciary requirements. Finally, our brokers should have a clear understanding that, as brokers and client representatives, we simply must add value to the client experience and this extends far beyond the common ability to promote ourselves as real estate agents.
